This is how I feel

Lately, I feel like I just want to take cat naps all day long.  It doesn’t help that it’s so dark after work and chilly and I’m faced with lazy dogs and soft, snuggly cats.

This week is going to be a week of sponsored posts.  They’ve been lining up in the drafts folder and I need to get them posted.  I apologize for not mixing it up for your reading pleasure, but it is what it is.   The good news is I’ve found some tasty things worth sharing.

We’ve also been trying to save some money by eating at home more often.  It’s so easy to go out for dinner (especially on the weekends) and it’s even easier to to see how all those little meals add up to hundreds of dollars at the end of the month.  How crazy is that?  So, I’ve been taking stock of the freezer inventory and planning our meals out for the week (at least the main protein component) and that’s been helping.

What have you all been up to?  Go anywhere tasty for Beer Week?  We stopped by Tiger! Tiger! when they had Beachwood BBQ on tap and enjoyed some tasty snacks.  We splurged this year for the Beer Garden/Chef Celebration tickets and will go see if the price is justified.

And, of course, we’ve been spending lazy rainy days on the couch watching movies and taking cat naps.

  1. I know what you mean about the dollars really adding up by eating out. When we looked at our budget for September, we were shocked by the amount we spent eating out! Now we’re trying to cook and eat at home more. Saving money on food is especially important now that we’re headed into the holidays.

    • It’s crazy how all those little meals add up! And we’re not even eating at expensive places (well, not usually). Even cutting back to eating out on weekends still surprises me. But, yes, if we can get through the holidays without spending as much, I’d be happy.

  2. We’ve done exactly that this long weekend……ah the joys of long weekends and naps!

  3. Instead of taking naps, I’ve been sleeping earlier. It becomes dark so early that all I want to do is crawl into bed. I need to buckle down and start eating at home too.

    • In my head, going to be earlier sounds like a good solution. But if I go to bed earlier than Travis, he just wakes me up when he comes to bed so he can kiss me goodnight. How do you tell your husband to stop kissing you goodnight because you’re asleep?? So, now I go to bed but start reading until he he’s ready to go to sleep. And, if I’m still up and reading after half an hour, I get up and make him shut down his computer and come to bed because I’m tired.

  4. That picture really sums up my energy level last week and especially on Saturday with all the rain. I’m trying to force myself to exercise or something to stop the hibernation feeling.

    • I’ve found that once I start exercising regularly, it’s easier to stay active. Except on rainy days when EVERYONE is snuggled on the couch looking lazy.

That cat, in particular, is nicknamed The Lazy for a reason…

  5. Oy, that sleepy-nappy feeling has been me for the past month! We would have loved to have napped during the long weekend (okay, maybe I did get in one nap) but we spent most of it catching up on everything. We’ve been eating at home too although I also have a few posts that’s just lingering, waiting patiently for me to get my fat-butt around to posting. But I’ve been allocating my (little) free time catching up on everyone’s posts, hehe.
