Actually, this post has nothing to do with Cinco de Mayo. But, today is the 5th of May, so there you go.
We have returned from our Mediterranean honeymoon as newlyweds, faced with a pile of mail, boxes of decorations, and loads of laundry. The trip was wonderful and I’m happy to be home. I do want to send a letter to Royal Caribbean about the cruise, as well as one to Holland America to let them know why I wish they had offered the itinerary we took instead. I am also regretting not smuggling in a few tiny Greek kitties that we saw in town, as the ones we came home to are much larger than I remember.
I can’t thank our friend Ben enough for house/pet-sitting for us while we roamed the Greek Isles for two weeks; the dogs were happy to see us but not crazy for human attention, which tells me they were well taken care of in our absence. Knowing someone was keeping them company made it much easier to be gone for so long. We came home to 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 chickens, and as far as I can tell, they’re the same ones we left.
We also came home to a slideshow of a few wedding photos, which made me tear up a little bit, but also made me smile since I got to see some photos of the boys getting ready. I want to put all of them on huge canvas prints and cover the house with them. I can’t wait to see the rest… it’s like reliving our wedding all over again, which I find quite fun. I wish we could have a wedding all the time, but without all the planning, effort, and payments.
Our to-do list is still quite impressive – unpacking, thank you cards, vendor reviews, write ups and recaps… but we’ll get through it. What do you want to hear about first?
Welcome back! What’s like to be married now?? Are you sad it’s over? Or relieved?
Being married feels much poorer… ha ha! Actually, it doesn’t feel any different, yet, except that now everyone calls me Mrs. Hammond. I’m not really sad the wedding’s over, but I am looking forward to some casual summertime partying. And it was fun to only have to fill out 1 customs declaration form since we now qualify as a “family”. =)
Welcome back from your honeymooning! I bet it felt like it went by really fast. Can’t wait to hear about your overseas adventures!
Our trip DID go by super-quick! Then again, time still feels like it’s flying by. I’m just now getting laundry done! Next up, thank you cards and photo organizing.
Welcome back Leanne! You look so beautiful in your dress! 🙂
Looking forward to your honeymoon posts about Greece!
Thanks! I love that dress! I don’t know what I’m going to do with it, but I don’t think I’ll be able to sell it. We’ll see how long I can manage to fit into it. =) Greece was amazing! I’ve put down a moratorium on Greek food in San Diego for at least a month so I don’t get disappointed. Everything we ate was so good!
Welcome home!!!
Thanks! We’re loving the pictures we’ve seen so far from Mandi! I hope you’re having fun on your trip, too!
Look how gorgeous you look! Welcome back and tell us all about you trip. I’m sure the kids are happy that you’re back.
Our pups were certainly excited to see us! And the kitties have actually been pretty cuddly since we’ve been home. Willie managed to spread his laziness over me for a good 4 hours today.
