And then I partied even more (not really)

Okay, one more post about me… and then it’ll be more posts about me?  Well, I guess that’s what you get when you read my blog.  Ha!  I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you about the fun (yet still low-key and not crazy) night Darlene organized for us blogger gals.  Jenny, Marie, Mary, and Canine Cologne came out to wish me luck before heading into married life and we started at The Wellington.  I’ve mentioned before how lucky I am to have been introduced to these wonderful blogging ladies, and I still feel this way.  Not only is it fun to be able to talk blog and food talk with other people, but they’re so much fun to be around.  And, of course, they have great taste in food!

Some not great photos of very good appetizers – shrimp and polenta and a goat cheesy artichoke dip.  I did get a Pretty Princess martini, which was pink, pretty, and fit for a princess.  We chatted, nibbled, drank, chatted some more, and then were on our way to The Gathering for some dinner.

Canine Cologne brought along some tasty little chocolate chip cakes from Hans & Harry’s, and I can safely say that they also went well with morning coffee.  Versatile! Dessert that doubles as breakfast!  Once those were finished, it was getting late (for a school night) and we headed on home.

Darlene did provide everyone with some party favors – cheese Kit Kats! (The tiara was just for me.)  It tasted more like white chocolate and cheesecake, but the smell was definitely cheesy.  One of those things that tastes better than it smells?  It didn’t smell bad, but it definitely smelled like a savory cheese.

I don’t think I ever told Darlene that these Zero Calorie gels (slim & slim!) were actually pretty tasty.  Travis said the purple grape one tasted just like a peeled grape.  The grape ones were better than the mango, but they were fun to eat.  They must have worked, because I fit into my wedding dress like a dream!

Thank you, Darlene, for coordinating everyone’s schedules and getting us together for a good time.  I hope we get to see each other often throughout the rest of the year!

  1. It was a lovely evening! I felt bad for coming empty handed, but I’m really glad you had a fun time! I hope we get a chance to meet up again soon…

  2. hi leanne – it was so fun meeting you, marie and mary (for the first time!)!
i agree with jenny – let’s get together soon and perhaps we can do the purse exchange or some other thing – maybe a crazy hat tea party (sorry, i’m still transfixed by those funky british fascinator hats from prince william’s wedding).

i couldn’t bring myself to eat the cheese kit kat. i can’t get past the smell, but my husband likes them, so he ate most of them.

  3. Interesting candy gels with no calories. They look good. Never saw them before.
