oh, my, where did the time go?

Hi!  Remember me?  Well, I’m back – for a spare moment, at least.

You know how people tell you the time before your wedding will fly by?  Well, turns out that’s true.  People also seem to think you’ll be totally stressed out.  I’ve had more than one person remark how calm I seem and not-stressed out.  Honestly, the most stressful part of my week was trying to get my work projects and deadlines ironed out so my co-workers wouldn’t be muttering curses under their breath while we’re cruising the high seas.

Right now, I have one of those spare moments of “alone time”.  House guests have left to check into the hotel, Travis is out picking up kegs and whatnot, and I am sitting in a house that is just me and the dogs.  It’s really nice.  If anything, I wish Travis and I could have had more moments alone this week.  Between entertaining family, late work nights, and more family, I think I had 10 minutes of time with him each day.

I managed to lose the weight that was making my dress a little snug.  I don’t know what exactly did it (it certainly wasn’t forgetting to eat!) but I did drastically cut out breads and sugar and I worked my little butt out a lot.  Yesterday, a co-worker brought in a cheesecake he made and I had a tiny slice (before it was all gone!) and I have to tell you, it was the best cheesecake I’d ever had.

Before I go off and get married, I want to say that I am so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people – in the “real” world and the “foodie” one, too.  My girls threw me a lovely bachelorette party weekend in the Central Coast and then Darlene organized an awesome night out and my food girls came out to celebrate with me (thanks Jenny, Marie, Mary, and Canine Cologne!) I do have pictures of all the fun, but they’re sitting on my camera.  Maybe I’ll get them cleared before we leave for Greece.

These last few months have been a whirlwind, but I am so excited for our wedding.  And whatever comes next.  Thanks for hanging in there through all the sporadic posting and crazy wedding talk.  Once the wedding dress goes into storage, I’m hoping to get back to eating some fun meals!
