Merry Christmas

I hope you’re all enjoying Christmas (or Saturday, if you don’t celebrate Christmas) with those that you love, doing whatever it is you love doing.  I came down with a cold the second I came home from work, spent a day being miserable on the couch, and then felt better the next day.  I credit Emergen-C, Naked Green Superfood drinks, lots of hot tea, and this weird, awful tasting tincture I bought last year that’s supposed to get rid of colds quickly.  That, and lots of TLC and tea-fetching from Travis.

The point is, I got over this cold really fast, just in time for Christmas Eve filets and steamed crab.  And now I can make gingerbread men and sugar cookies.  And I’ll be festive to host our gift exchange with friends, complete with prime rib.

This year, Travis and I bought each other a new flat screen tv and home theater setup.  And then he bought me a new cookbook and a thermometer that doesn’t read 135F at room temperature.  Yay!  I bought him a new cookbook on smoked meats, some coffee, and then stuck a clementine in his stocking.  The dogs got chocolate covered bacon (really, carob-covered Beggin’ Strips) and canned good.  The kitties got their own can of kitten food, some ‘nip, and some snuggles.

From our fur-covered home to yours (probably much less fur-covered), Merry Christmas!  I hope Santa was good to you!
