Honestly, I try to avoid travel websites as much as I can. I use them to look up good deals on rates, but then I try to see if I can get those same rates through the actual company website. It works better for airfare than hotels, though, since most hotel deals are available because Expedia/etc has booked a block of rooms at a discounted rate.

I think the problem with moving services is that they charge you for a shipping container, regardless of how full it is. We don’t have enough to fill a container. It’s really just a large wooden trunk.

And I am sure that I would not have been able to get that refund, being shuttled from deprtament to department, talking to “drones” and their “managers” who would not give out ph#’s or last names. I finally got the name of a real person who was a VP of Travelocity via the ASTA – American Society of Travel Agents – after the email, the credit was processed in 72 hours.

There is an 800 number, which will lead you to a wonderful Customer representative, and an e-mail form, which I did use to relate my “Customer Service experience”. So lame.
